Silly Six

L turned six in February. She is in Kindergarten this year and doing an amazing job! She is in the advanced reading group with first graders and has just recently started reading The Magic Tree House book series. She loves to spell words while driving in the car and is generally correct.

She has been taking piano for a year and is learning to move her hands up and down the keys with both hands and use the pedal which is VERY exciting for her. She also in Taekwondo and has achieved her orange belt.

She is very active and creative. She enjoys playing dress up and generally dresses as a pirate or witch. She is funny, loving, and always ready to give a hug. She has recently started posing for pictures and can't get enough camera action. She also likes to tell you the opposite of what she really thinks when you ask her a question. Recently we went for her check-up and she told the doctor that she hates school, is 10 years old, is a boy, doesn't eat, doesn't like to go outside, hates candy, and doesn't know how to read. It was a little embarrassing after a while but the doctor took it all in stride.

For her birthday we took her to Applebee's for dinner and then came home to open gifts and have dessert.

She got quite a haul from her extended family and from us. Her sister got her a puppy, some bubbles and tic-tacs with her allowance money. We gave her a cute pirate sweater with leggings and a pirate sweatshirt.
Dad put her candles into half of an apple. After she ate the apple she got to enjoy a tasty donut.
At age six she weighs 43 pounds and is 53 inches tall. She is an inch taller than her older sister and already wearing a size 8 in her clothes plus a size 5 in shoes. Not looking forward to putting my first grader in adult women's size shoes next year. Hopefully flats will be 'in'.
