Easter Dress

After all the Easter festivities, it was time to get ready for church. We go at 1:00pm so we had plenty of time to find eggs, go through our baskets, and eat lunch before getting into our church dress. I had the hardest time finding cute dresses this year for my girls. But I finally found these little cuties at Wal-Mart. I was very surprised, they are just so darn cute.

Our family picture didn't turn out very well, but we are all together and that is all that matters.

Dying Easter Eggs

We dyed Easter Eggs the day before Easter. I didn't want L to get all dyed too, so she just got to watch this year. Next year she will get to enjoy the fun. She was very well behaved while we dyed the eggs.

Even Daddy helped dye eggs.

"Too Far Away" gift

The girls received an Easter package in the mail from their "Too Far Away" Granny and Papa. K couldn't wait to open it. She loves getting mail. I was glad she let L look while she opened it, since it was for both of them.

Opening the package.

L got a cute little bunny book that has a "Boing" button and an Easter card.

K got a boomerang, a coloring book and a card with a paper bunny doll to dress up.
She loved that bunny, kept changing it's clothes for over an hour.

L loved pushing the "Boing" button. She would push it, listen to the noise and then push it again.

K dressing up her bunny doll. Too cute.

While Mom's Away...

While I was away scrapbooking, my hubby was making more memories to add to the album. He let K make her own pizza. I think she did a fabulous job. I am just sad that I wasn't there to taste her yummy creation!

Yearly Check Ups

So we finally were able to get the girls to the doctor for their yearly check-ups. They are both doing great physically and mentally.

L is now 33" tall putting her in the 99th percentile. She weighs 22 pounds putting her in the 49th percentile. So she is very tall and average weight for her age. She got all of her vaccinations up to date and took them pretty well. She had to have 4 separate shots, but only cried for a little bit. By the time we hit the hallway she was all better:)

K had her check-up too. She is 42.5" tall putting her in the 90th percentile and weighs 35 pounds putting her in the 50th percentile. So she too is tall and average for her age. There isn't much they do at the 4 year check-up, no shots or anything but they did test her eyesight. She has 20/30 vision. The doctor said that is normal for her age and not to worry about it. I really hope she doesn't have eye problems. I had to get glasses when I was in the 3rd grade and it was awful! I really want my kids to take after their dad in the eyesight department. He has 20/10 vision. That means he can see at 20 feet what other people can only see at 10 feet. Pretty sweet.
Anyway, both girls are doing great. L will have another check-up in about 6 months and K's will be when she is 5. Until then, here's to healthy kids:)

Scrapbook Retreat

Karen and I found a great little retreat spot just outside of town. It is called the McKenzie Mountain River Resort. It was once a ranger station but is now being converted to a vacation spot. They have several houses, lodge rooms, and a bunk house. The prices are very reasonable and you are right on the river. It is close to some cute little towns and there are tons of things to do there: hiking, fishing, horseback riding, hunting and many others. You can even rent out the place for a family reunion. It is very beautiful, as you can see from our pictures. Click on the mosaic to see the pictures better.

These are some pictures we took on the way to the retreat. There was a cute little gallery on the side of the road with all these great pieces. It wasn't open, but we got out and looked at what they had displayed outside. We saw several covered bridges and even drove through one. The river ran along the side of the road almost the whole way. We had a few pretty nice days so we spent some time outside enjoying the weather and the view. There were also a few places to eat. One was a charming old farm house converted to a restaurant, lounge and spa. We ate dinner there and it was really good. We also stopped by another restaurant that is a pizza/sandwich spot. It was also very good.

Here is the top of the place we stayed. They are putting in some businesses here.

Here is Karen in front of the bunk house/ conference room. This is were we slept and scrapped. It was very comfortable and we had a great time.

There weren't very many of us, but it was still fun.

Here we are in the beautiful sun. We had a great time and it was the cheapest retreat Karen and I have been on yet. The food was great and the surroundings beautiful. I am hoping to take the family there for a weekend this summer. I think they would love it!

Easter Package

The girls received a surprise package in the mail from their "Horsie Bahmah". K loves to get items in the mail box. When they opened it, they found a sweet surprise. Easter cookies from Roth's bakery. Every time K goes to see her Bahmah, she gets to go shopping and push the little cart they have. She really enjoys putting groceries in her cart and pushing it around. No trip to Roth's is ever complete without a stop at the Bakery for some cookies. The girls really enjoyed eating them, although most of L's ended up as crumbs in her lap.

You've Had a Birthday Shout Hooray!

We celebrated K's birthday on Saturday with a small party with her best friends and family. K wanted to have a Ladybug party, so I made her a Ladybug cake with little baby cupcakes. I also made a Pin-the-Dot-on-the Ladybug game for them. We also had the girls make some antenna headbands. They looked so cute with them on.

All of K's gifts. She had a wonderful time and can't wait to use her new sandbox. And no, we will not be keeping it in the house. We just need to have some nice days when we can go out and level the ground for its new home.

CKC Portland Scrapbook Convention

My aunt and I love to scrapbook, but last year we were so busy we never got a chance to do it. So this year, we decided to start out right by going to the annual Scrapbook show in Portland. It is three days of classes, crops, and vendors galore; a scrapbookers paradise!

We arrived on Thursday night to check in and attend the Simple Schemes Crop. We got tons of free product and put together 10 layouts using some new techniques.

On Friday we were up at 6:45 in the morning so we could get ready and eat in preparation for our long day of classes. Our first class was at 8:00am. Most of our classes were together, but the few we had apart we swapped notes on. We had a little time in between some of our classes to look around at the vendors, but we were mostly in class and our last one ended at 7:30 that night. Here is a picture of us at our last class. We were definitely ready to go to bed. A lot of people were staying for the 7-midnight crop, I don't know how they did it.

Saturday we were up early again for another early class. Although, we only had two classes that day and spent some time shopping afterwards. We got a ton of free stuff in all the classes we took and there were several make n' takes at the vendors booths that we did. We had a really great time and I am excited about all the great new techniques I learned. My scrapbook pages were starting to get a little stale and looked the same, now I can spice them up a little bit.

Visit from Hawaii

M's cousins, Heather Sapphire and Daisey, came to visit the family for a couple of weeks. They are staying with M's mom but came down for the day on Saturday. This is the first time in about 8 years since M has seen his cousins. They live in Hawaii so they don't see each other often. I have heard a lot about them, so it was nice to finally be able to visit with them for a while.
Daisey is 3 months younger than L. It was really funny seeing them interact. L got right up next to Daisey and would bend over to look her in the face. Then she would stand up and yell a happy yell. A couple of the times she scared poor Daisey. But they seemed to like each other pretty well. K really liked hugging Daisey. She did that a lot. Such a love bug with babies:)

Daisey is such a happy playful girl. Such a delight to have around.
