Sword Play and Such

While looking for books at our local Good Will, we came across a shield for 49 cents that we couldn't pass up. L loves to dress up like a pirate and play with swords so this was a perfect addition to her outfit. When we got home, M used the new shield to make another one for K.

We had just ordered a bunch of foam swords off of Amazon and they arrived in the mail the same day we found the shield. The girls were excited to play with them, as was their dad.

Here is a short video of the girls fighting each other. They loved the new toys!
The girls received some new dress up clothes we found at a great price of $10 each M found online. The girls love dressing up!

Some time ago Bahmah gave us a bird target with a gun that shoots darts for the girls to play with. Here is a video of L shooting.

With the nice weather, K is back to practicing with her roller skates. We need to take her back to the roller rink sometime soon.

K has been begging us to let her do weapons training in Taekwondo. M told her that if she can say "Yes Ma'am" and "Yes Sir" to us for two weeks straight then she can learn weapons. She hasn't been able to do it so far but is getting better at remembering more often. M got the girls some foam nunchakus to practice with.

Funny story, M used to be quite good at using his nunchakus and would do it at parties. The drunk party-goers would look at him doing it so easily that they would want a turn. M would oblige and they usually ended up knocking themselves silly, to M's amusement. I must say, foam is better:)
The chains aren't quite long enough for them to do the fancy work but it will get them used to using them before we purchase the ones required for Taekwondo. Want to come give it a try?
