The Princess Pirate and Phoenix

L wanted to be a Princess Pirate of the Sea this year for Halloween which is quite fitting. She dresses up as a pirate quite often and loves playing with swords. M took quite a few cute pictures of her and I had a hard time whittling them down. Here are just a few of them.

K wanted to be a Phoenix this year. A cool idea but I had no idea how we were going to create such a costume. Well, leave it to Bahmah to come up with the greatest costume ever! K got so many compliments from everyone who saw her.

M was able to do some tweaking with the camera to make it look like flames on her wings. K was really nervous about wearing the mask. She though it looked like big birds but when all her classmates thought she looked amazing, she was more comfortable wearing it.
Helping K get ready.
My sassy girls.
Sorting candy after trick or treating. We let the girls pick out 20ish pieces of candy and then put the rest back in the bowl for the other trick or treaters. They eat a few pieces that first night after we check them all and then we divvy it out over the next month. They are pretty happy about that arrangement.
Here is K's haul. They got quite a bit this year. They actually went around half of the neighborhood. In years past they were done after going around the block once. I went around two blocks with them and then headed home to hand out candy. I was exhausted by the time I got home. K was sweet and gave me some of her peanut butter cups, they are my favorite.

It was a successful Halloween and tonight we get to go to our old ward and celebrate Trunk or Treat with them. Should be fun, although I am not sure what we will do with the extra candy they get. Maybe donate it to their classes for snack next week:) Hope you had a chocolatey Halloween!
