Powerpoint on Killer Whales

For her reading class, K had to research information on an animal indigenous to Oregon and create a PowerPoint presentation. She chose Killer Whales.

The class worked on their PowerPoint at school for a couple of weeks and then presented them to their classmates. Here is K's presentation.

McDowell Creek Falls

On a cold overcast day we went on a family hike near Sweet Home. We only walked two miles but we saw four different waterfalls along the way.

Fun on the Tramp

Dad is so good about going out and roughhousing on the trampoline with the girls, especially when it's cold or rainy outside. They always have a blast playing together.

Volcano Project

Over Christmas break K decided to make a working volcano to present to her class. She researched the different types of volcanoes, how they are created and what makes them erupt. She drew a diagram of the internal features of a volcano on one side of poster board and the outside of a volcano with all the things that could occur during an eruption on the other side.

She used wads of newspaper taped around a plastic bottle covered with aluminum foil. She then covered the outside with paint and sand to represent landscape.

For the eruption she used peroxide, yeast and red dye. She presented her project to her fourth grade class. They thought it was so cool!
The video is a little long. If you don't want all the info, go to the last bit of the video to see the eruption.

New Year's Eve

The girls went to Bahmah's for New Years Eve so we got to ring in the new year alone. We grabbed some Chinese takeout and cuddled up on the couch at home watching movies. It was a quiet and relaxing evening. The girls had fun doing chores with Bahmah, making tie dye shirts and learning how to use a yo-yo with Papa.
